I can tell just from that photo that your kayak was not adjusted for you properly. Sitting up straight with your lower back supported so you maintain proper posture is the best way to paddle.
See, I'm glad Allan knows all about it. Glad you've been home a couple days to blog.
Believe me, I knew that pretty soon but there were so many there that it was not going to be easy to get an adjustment. "Next time..." has to be the mantra here. They did at least adjust the foot pegs for me, though I am not sure the adjustment was adequate.
